• RECORDS AND REPORTING

  A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.

  Observation. Files for eight children were reviewed. Emergency contact persons were not available in two file.

  Corrective action. Please ensure an emergency contact person is available in all children's files.

• POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

  A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.

  Observation. The fire extinguisher decal expired on July 27, 2022.

  Corrective action. Please ensure the fire extinguisher is serviced once eery 12 months.

• RECORDS AND REPORTING

  A licensee must keep, for each child requiring extra support, a current care plan showing the following information: (a) the diagnoses relevant to the child's requirement for extra support, as made by health care professionals.

  Observation. Files for three children were reviewed. Although the manager was able to describe what she would do in the case of a reaction to certain food products, care plans were not available for two children.

  Corrective action. Please ensure written instructions are available for staff to follow if a child has a reaction to a food product.

  A licensee must have all of the following: (a) emergency exits and a fire drill system approved by a local assistant within the meaning of the Fire Services Act.

  Observation. Fire extinguisher on-site was recently expired.

  Corrective action. Please ensure that fire extinguisher is annually inspected and tagged by a certified technician.
