  • EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    Observation. Licensing observed a piece of cardboard located in the outdoor play area. In discussion with staff they stated the area was covering a hole that the child had made in the garden area. Licensing observed one child drive over the cardboard and fall headfirst off of a ride on toy.

    Corrective action. Licensing discussed permanently fixing the hole to ensure it does not present a tripping or safety hazard to the children. Please provide active supervision in this area until it is corrected.

  • LICENSING

    A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility the certificate, or a copy of the certificate, of any educator or assistant employed to work in the community care facility.

    Observation. During the inspection two staff were working in the facility. Both staff have been working part time in the facility for over two months. Staff certificates were not posted in the facility

    A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.

    Observation. The attendance records were reviewed seven departure times were missing for the months of March and April. In addition, some dates were not written on the attendance records.
