    The licensee must (b) review the care plan at least once each year with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent.

    Observation. A care plan was last signed in 2024.

  • HYGIENE AND COMMUNICABLE DISEASE

    A licensee must establish a program to instruct children in, and to practise the rules of, health and hygiene.

    Observation. Licensing observed each child’s sleeping mat had a cover sheet, and the mats were stored by stacking them on top of each other. The staff confirmed that the mats are placed on the floor during nap time, and the cover sheets remain on the mats throughout the week and get send home on Fridays.

    Corrective action. To ensure health and hygiene bedding on sleep mats needs to be kept separate. The Manager said she will purchase additional sleeping mats to use as dividers between each child’s mat when stored

    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    Observation. Licensing observed the following: -Two cords were not secured. These were accessible to children. This is a repeat contravention from inspection #CLAN-CBJVPR -Staff purses/bags were located at the children's level. This is a repeat contravention from inspection #CLAN-CNPQ7J and #CLAN-BSCV6Y

    Observation. Two fire extinguishers were observed. The service date on the fire extinguishers was January 17th, 2024. Licensing observed the fire extinguisher was within the area of fully changed.

    Corrective action. Please ensure fire extinguishers are serviced on an annual basis to ensure you are prepared in the event of an emergency.

    Observation. One of the exit doors was partially blocked with three large bins filled with emergency supplies. This is a repeat contravention from inspection # CLAN-BSCV6Y

    Corrective action. Please ensure supplies and equipment do not block an exit to ensure a safe exit in the possibility of an emergency.

  • EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

    A licensee must supply equipment, furniture and supplies that are (a) of sturdy and safe construction, easy to clean and free from hazards.

    Observation. During the inspection several wooden tables were showing signs of wear. The finishing was worn off and there were several indents in the table. The indents could potentially harbour bacteria.

    Corrective action. Please ensure the equipment is safe and easy to clean and free from potential health hazards.

    Observation. During the inspection the following was observed in the facility: -a large shelf, over four feet tall was not anchored to the wall. This may cause a potential falling hazard -staff purses were open and within easy reach of the children. These purses may contain items that could cause a choking or poisoning hazard.

    Observation. During the inspection licensing observed rust on a fixture and several bolts in the outdoor play area. This could cause a potential health hazard. Licensing recommended practicing active supervision in these area until the rust can be fixed.
