A licensee must ensure that any heated water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49° Celsius.
Observation. The hot water temperature in the bathroom sink accessible to children measured above 49°C.
Corrective action. The staff member said that they will communicate this concern with the building manager to adjust the temperature.

A licensee must keep, for each child requiring extra support, a current care plan showing the following information: (b) the courses of action recommended by health care professionals to address the needs of the child requiring extra support.
Observation. There were inconsistent details stated under courses of action in one of the care plans because of a recent update.
Corrective action. The staff member said that she will confirm the details with the parents to update the care plan.

- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that all indoor and outdoor play materials and equipment accessible to children are (b) safely constructed, free from hazards and in good repair.
Observation. The following items were observed at the time of the inspection that pose a risk to the children playing indoor and outdoors; - ground cover tarp under wood chips exposed posing a tripping hazards in some area's - the program inside door trim has a damaged sweep with a sharp edge exposed - blind cords in the program accessible to children playing in the area's - a damaged wooden planter box is under construction and made inaccessible but needs to be corrected in a timely manner The LO reviewed these items with the manager at the time of the inspection.
Corrective action. Ensure all indoor and outdoor toys and equipment accessible to children are safely constructed and free from hazards and in good repair.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status.
Observation. Five children's files were reviewed and one file did not have evidence of Medical Insurance Plan number available. The LO reviewed this item with the manager at the time of the inspection.
Corrective action. Ensure all children's files are complete including Medical Insurance Plan.

- STAFFING
A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.
Observation. Two staff files were reviewed and one staff had an expired CRC and another staff had a CRC not specific to the facility. The expired CRC was corrected on the same day of the inspection.
Corrective action. Ensure staff files are complete including Criminal Record Checks.
