- MEDICATION
If a licensee has agreed with a parent to give a child any medication prescribed by a medical practitioner or provided by the parent, the licensee and his or her employees must ensure that the medication is (a) administered to the child in the amount and at the times specified by the child's parent or in the child's record or care plan.
Observation. One child had medication that had different amounts to administer on different forms. One child did not have permission form completed for medication that is indicated on their care plan.
Corrective action. Ensure that medication is administered in the amount and times that are specified by the parent and in the care plan
16010 - CCLR s.53(1)(a) - POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.
Observation. Licensing reviewed the materials to respond to and recover from an emergency. The facility has one package of water and 2 sleeves of crackers. The Manager said that the school has used their equipment.
Corrective action. Ensure that there is enough food and water to recover from an emergency. It is recommend to have enough for 72 hours.
13020 - CCLR s.22(1)(b) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (i) a photograph or digital image of the child, and other information that can be used to readily identify the child in an emergency.
Observation. One child did not have a photograph
Corrective action. Ensure each child has a photograph or digital image to readily identify them.

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (c) a record of the person's work history.

A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility both the licence, including any terms or conditions of the licence, and the name of the manager.
Observation. The program CCFL was not available on site. Additionally the name of the manager was not posted within the program. The LO reviewed this requirement during the second day of the inspection as the manager was in attendance.
Corrective action. Ensure the Community Care Facility Licence and the name of the manager is posted in a prominent place with the program while in operation.
10050 - CCLR s.11(1) - POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.
Observation. Fire drill records were reviewed and the September fire drill was observed to not be conducted or recorded.
Corrective action. Ensure monthly fire drills are being conducted and recorded.

Observation. Three children's files were reviewed and one was missing a medical practitioner name and contact details.
Corrective action. Ensure all children's files are complete including Dr's name and contact details.
