11230 - CCLR s.47 - EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation. The large play structure in the yard is close to the fence with the slid having less than 3 feet distance to the slide and the potential for children to hit the fence if they fall off the equipment. There is no resilient surfacing located below the climber.
Corrective action. Ensure that any structure is in line with the Director of Licensing Standard of Practice Safe Play Space.
11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must supply equipment, furniture and supplies that are (b) located so as not to block or hamper an exit in the case of fire or other emergency. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): The emergency exit doors are locked with a key and the key was not available at each door at time of inspection. The keys were moved to the doors during the inspection.
Corrective action. Ensure that emergency exit doors are accessible at all times

Observation. The Manager said that sometimes children arrive for music lessons when they are already at capacity. It was discussed that the capacity is to be maintained if children are in the building or on the playground.
Corrective action. Ensure that you do not exceed 9 children.

Observation. While the School Age program was in operation, there were 2 children in attendance that did not meet the age requirement.
Corrective action. Licensee explained that she will not have any children attend who do not meet the age requirement. She will inform those parents today.
