- HYGIENE AND COMMUNICABLE DISEASE
A licensee must establish a program to instruct children in, and to practise the rules of, health and hygiene.
Observation. The diaper change mat is visibly dirty and needs to be thoroughly cleaned or replaced.
Corrective action. The Manager will replace the diaper change mat.
15030 - CCLR s.46(1) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
The licensee must (b) review the care plan at least once each year with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent.
Observation. There are two care plans that were not reviewed annually with the parents. The Manager has noted the correct expiration of anaphylactic medication, however, did not review the details of the care plan. One care plan does not have evidence of when it was last reviewed.
Corrective action. The Manager said that she will review the care plans with the parents.
19260 - CCLR s.58(2)(b) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status.
Observation. Upon review of eight children's files, four were missing immunization status.
Corrective action. Manager said that she will obtain the immunization status.

- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation. A cabinet in the classroom was identified as not secured to the wall posing a potential hazard to children playing in the area. Additionally a wagon near the outdoor play area door had significant water and debris in it also posing a health hazard to children passing through the area. LO reviewed both of these items with the manager at the time of the inspection.
Corrective action. Ensure a healthy and safe environment is provided at all time.

A licensee must ensure that each employee (b) practices implementing the fire drill system at least once each month.
Observation. Fire drill records were reviewed and a drill was missed during the month of March. LO reviewed this requirement with the manager during the inspection.
Corrective action. Ensure employees practice implementing and record monthly fire drills.
