Observation. The fire drill was not practiced last month. All employees are required to practice the fire drill at least monthly. Submit by March 16, 2026, confirmation that the fire drill will be practiced by all employees monthly.

Observation. An employee did not wash their hands prior to serving the children’s snack, and children did not wash their hands prior to eating the snack. Good hand hygiene is a crucial step in the prevention of infections and is the single most effective way to reduce the transmission of infectious diseases. Submit by March 16, 2026, confirmation that children are engaged in good hand hygiene practices.

Observation. Children's drink bottles are only washed and sanitized once a week. Children’s drink bottles must be washed and sanitized daily to prevent the rapid growth of bacteria. Submit by March 16, 2026, confirmation that children's drink bottles are washed and sanitized daily.

Observation. The Licensing Officer observed that the manager's name was not displayed in facility at the time of inspection. Ensure the name of the manager is displayed in a prominent place at the facility. This was corrected during inspection.
- C3.2 - Are persons qualified and appropriately replaced?Critical
Observation. The following was unresolved from the previous Routine Inspection: "One educator certificate has expired". - During today's inspection, all educator's valid certificates were observed. The following contraventions were identified during today's inspection: There was no evidence observed reflecting that educator's and assistant's certificates are verified with the Early Childhood Educator Registry. Ensure a person must not be employed as an educator or assistant unless they hold a certificate which must be verified by the Licensee using a system established and maintained by the director of the Early Childhood Educator Registry.

Observation. The Licensing Officer observed two towels in the bathroom which were used by all children to dry their hands throughout the day and not disposed off after each use. Ensure children are provided with individual hand drying towels and these towels are single use.

Observation. The Licensing Officer reviewed child records and observed missing information including sex of children. Ensure children's records are kept complete.

C4.1K/L - Regulation 58 - There are children enrolled who require additional support and care plans are incomplete. Ensure care plans are developed, current, reviewed annually. A resource was provided to the licensee during the inspection

Observation. C3.1C - Regulation 19(1)(a-f) - Staff records were observed today with incomplete immunization status, one staff had an inaccurate criminal record check, and not all staff had character references complete. It was discussed that staff covid 19 immunization status is required to be documented as it is part of BC's immunization program. C3.H - Regulation 20 - There are persons residing on the premise over the age of 12 who require criminal record checks.

Observation. C2.1G-Regulation 56(1)(d)-The daily program consists of daily neighbourhood walks to community parks or facilities. A toileting plan is required on how children's toileting needs will be met when away from the Community Care Facility that supports child privacy and dignity.
