Observation. The educator/assistant certificates are not displayed in a prominent place at the facility. The posting of educator and assistant certificates is required by the Child Care Licensing Regulation. Submit a response to Licensing with evidence of compliance by 07-May-2025

Observation. 2 employee files did not show evidence that the Licensee has verified the certificates using the system established by the Early Childhood Educator Registry. For the safety of children, certificates must be verified as part of ensuring staff are appropriately qualified. Ensure certificates issued by the Early Childhood Educator Registry are validated as required by legislation. Submit a response to Licensing with evidence of compliance by 07-May-2025.

Observation. A metal toy truck in the outdoor play space is in poor condition (paint chipped, rusty jagged edges). This poses a risk for injury to children. Ensure program equipment and supplies (toys) are safe and free from hazards. Submit a response to Licensing with evidence of compliance by 07-May-2025.

Observation. Child records were reviewed and it was observed that records are missing information including the name and telephone number of the medical practitioner and emergency contacts. Children's care plans do not address actions the facility will take should an allergic reaction occur. Ensure care plans include information regarding actions to be taken.

Observation. • A wooden toy shelf, accessible to children, is in poor repair. Ensure children do not have access to potentially hazardous furniture. • There are large plastic blocks with broken sharp edges which can potentially pose a risk of injury to children. Ensure children do not have access to potentially hazardous equipment. • There was an expired "after bite" ointment in the first aid kit. This was disposed off during inspection. • There is no protective/resilient surfacing under the outdoor octagon climbing equipment which exceeds 1.5 meters in height. Ensure protective surfacing is used under climbing equipment to reduce risk of injury from falls. • The outdoor octagon climbing equipment is situated on an uneven surface which could pose a safety risk to children as it is not level with the ground surface. Ensure the equipment is safely installed on the outdoor surface.

Observation. There is no daily program of activities offered/provided to children in Group Child Care School Age program. Ensure children are provided with age appropriate program of activities.

Observation. Licensing observed that the facility does not have the required record for an employee who drives/transports children. Ensure anyone who is considered an employee has required documentation.

Observation. - A tall, slim shelf located by the exit door to the playground is unsteady and not secure. This poses a risk to children if it were to tip over. - A cupboard containing cleaning products was accessible to children. This was corrected during the inspection. - Two climbing structures located in the playground which are used by preschool children exceed 1.5 meters in height. - One climbing structure is situated near a tree and does not have adequate 6 foot clearance around the structure. - There is no protective surfacing for the climbing equipment.

Observation. -Written repayment agreement required for parents. -Fire extinguishers due for service Sept 2019.
