  The facility, the furniture, equipment, fixtures and supplies are of sturdy and safe construction.  They are easy to clean, and are clean and in good repair and free from hazards. [CCLR Sec. 13(2) and Sec. 15(1)(a)]

  Observation. Licensing observed the following: 1) One carpet had a worn out area with loose fibres that posed a tripping hazard. 2) Chipped drywall corner on the column located by the mat storage.

  Prior to employing staff the manager has met with each person and has obtained the appropriate documentation. [CCLR Sec. 19(1)]

  Observation. Four staff had expired criminal record checks. The manager applied and is awaiting processing by the Criminal Record Review Board.

  Observation. Licensing noted the paint throughout the facility was showing wear and tear. There are chips out of the drywall, worn paint, and pealing paint. Licensing observed that the paint on the large red and grey tree house also was showing wear and tear with chips and pealing paint.

  Observation. Licensing observed a jar of Aveno baby lotion and a bottle of Cetaphil lotion on the counter beside the sink. This was accessible to the children,

  Observation. Licensing observed one child's file was incomplete.

  A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility as an educator or an assistant unless the person holds a certificate issued under Division 2 [Employee Qualifications], which must be verified by the licensee using a system established and maintained by the director of the early childhood educator registry [CCLR Sec. 19(4)(a)]

  Observation. Licensing observed that the renewed Early Childhood certificates to practice had not been verified.

  There is an established program to instruct children in, and to practise the rules of, health and hygiene. [CCLR Sec. 46(1)]

  Observation. Licensing observed individual towels hanging in the washroom that the children use throughout the day.

  A record for each child containing the name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status is not kept. [CCLR Sec. 57(2)(a)]

  Observation. Two children's files did not contain immunization status.
