Licensing has been notified immediately of any change in the information provided under Section 9 (Applying for a License). [CCLR Sec. 10(1)]
Observation. -Licensing observed that children's registration information included an option for 'extended care hours' beyond the regular program hours of 7:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The extended care hours were available on weekday mornings from 5:45 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. and evenings from 5:30 p.m. to 9:45 p.m., as well as on weekends from 7:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. and from 12:45 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Families are provided the option to select from a list of licensed facilities operated by the Licensee to attend. Licensing inquired with staff about this arrangement and was informed that children from other programs could attend the current Balfour location to utilize the 'extended hours' program. Licensing was informed that no child remains in care for more than 13 hours per day. Staff confirmed that this program had been implemented. However, Licensing observed that no records or information was available on-site regarding which children were in attendance, registration details, staffing information, or any identified health information for the children attending. To assess ongoing compliance, please provide the following information regarding the extended care hours program: - Information regarding the staff involved in the program. - A detailed description of the care program being offered - Children's registration details including the following: * A list of children registered and attending the program. * Attendance days and hours for each child. - An employee plan that includes: * A statement of the duties, qualifications, relevant work experience and suitability of the proposed manager; * The proposed number of employees, their qualifications and expected duties; * A supervision and staffing plan, including provisions for when children are attending or being transported to and from outdoor play areas or off-site activities. - Written assurance that records and information related to children in care, as well as staff details, will be available on site.

Observation. During inspection Licensing observed the following: *Green carpets located in the entry way lifting at the corners. This poses as a tripping hazard. *One missing outlet cover located in the kitchen area. *An unstable white shelf located outside near the main entryway. This is a tipping hazard posing potential harm to children. *An unstable wooden play kitchen in the entrance area. This is a tipping hazard posing potential harm to children. *An unstable wooden shelf in the main play room. This is a tipping hazard posing potential harm to children.

Observation. Licensing observed a plugged in toaster in the kitchen area. The toaster was located on a low table, next to a toy shelf, and accessible to children. This is a fire hazard and poses a risk to children's health and safety.

Observation. Licensing observed play mats located in the nap room that were starting to rip and show signs of wear and tear. These mats are no longer in good repair and are difficult to properly clean.

Observation. Licensing observed two metal panels located near a pipe sticking out of the ground in the outdoor play space. The metal panels appeared to be moveable, sharp, and rusty making them hazardous.

Observation. It was revealed at today's inspection that snack foods provided are only 1 food group; today's morning snack was grapes. As required in the Canada Food Guide and Section 48 1(a) snack food must have at least two food groups. For example: grapes(fruit) and yogurt(dairy)

Observation. The fridge does not have a thermometer to record temperature. Fridge must be kept at 4deg C or below.
