  Observation. The fire extinguisher did not pass the yearly August 2024 inspection and requires replacing.

  Design: For prevention of entrapment, spaces (i.e., holes or openings) are smaller than 9 cm (3.5 inches) or larger than 23 cm (9 inches). [Director of Licensing Standard of Practice - Safe Play Space]

  Observation. Licensing observed an entrapment gap between the garden fence post and the basement stairwell railing.

  For each child requiring extra support, the licensee keeps a current care plan showing the required information. [CCLR Sec. 58(1)(2)]

  Observation. 1) One child in care's registration form indicated that the child had an anaphylaxis food allergy. No care plan or Epi Pen had been implemented and the manager was unaware of the child's allergy. Staff inquired with the Kindergarten teacher if the child was anaphylactic and was informed that the child had a care plan in place at the school and two Epi Pen's. 2) Another child had an incomplete care plan in place with the following crucial information missing: - child's name / date of birth - location of Epi Pen - Epi Pen expiry date
