A healthy and safe environment is provided at all times [CCLR Sec. 13(1)].

Observation. Licensing observed the following: 1) A gate standing upright against a wall. The gate posed a risk of falling over and injuring a child. The gate was secured between door openings at the time of inspection. 2) The gate to the kitchen was open giving children access to this area. A fire extinguisher on the floor, multiple cleaning brooms and mops and other hazardous items were present behind the gate. The gate was closed at the time of inspection. 3) One baseboard heater had a front protective panel that was broken and loose on one end exposing the sharp metal heating coils. The Licensee fixed the protective panel at the time of inspection. 4) Numerous toys and other items stored on open shelves and racks mounted on the walls above the floor. Some shelves contained baskets with heavy items such as wood blocks and wood puzzles. These items posed a risk of injuring a child if they were to fall during an earthquake. A discussion was held with the Licensee to remove all items stored above a child's head or store them in cabinets with lockable doors. 5) Some rubber protective strips for the fireplace mantel had become loose. Packing tape was used to tape the strips back into place, however this was ineffective.

We’ve been with Little Munchkin Daycare for over a year and a half, and it’s been a consistently great experience. Every teacher we’ve come across has been kind, caring, and genuinely good with the kids—not just our son, but all of them. You can tell they really enjoy what they do. Our son has become noticeably more social since starting—he’s made new friends, and it’s clear he feels happy and at ease there. The daycare is well run, communication is smooth, and everything feels organized and thoughtful. We’ve had no complaints and have always felt confident leaving our son in their care.

My son (2 yrs) has been enrolled with their shaughnessy location for the past year and we couldn’t be happier with care, learning, and love that he receives from his teachers and peers. The other children are so well mannered and happy and it resonates throughout the whole centre making for such a positive experience and environment. The administration is also so easy to work with and very communicative and we couldn’t recommend Little Munchkin Daycare enough!

Little Munchkins (Shaughnessy) has been a great daycare for our son, he has made amazing friends and the staff are so friendly and caring. I love the app that shows daily photos and updates so we can rest at ease. Admin is super organized, tax docs delivered on time, response times relatively quick. Overall great experience.
