  • PHYSICAL, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHING / EnvironmentNon-critical

The facility, the furniture, equipment, fixtures and supplies are of sturdy and safe construction.  They are easy to clean, and are clean and in good repair and free from hazards. [CCLR Sec. 13(2) and Sec. 15(1)(a)]

Observation. *CCFL observed looped and unsecured blind cords in the big room which creates the possibility of entanglement. *Electrical cords from equipment such as an air purifier in the front circle room were loose and unsecured. *Electrical outlets that are in use in the front circle room are located directly underneath wall heaters in such a way that cords plugged in rest on the heater itself. In the past these heaters were not functioning however the new manager thought they may have been repaired. While this item is not currently in non-compliance as the heaters were cool during the inspection and CCFL was unable to determine if the heaters are indeed functional, the manager to follow up with community centre staff to see if the baseboard heaters are working, if so an assessment to be made as to their use and safety.
