  For each child requiring extra support, the licensee keeps a current care plan showing the required information. [CCLR Sec. 58(1)(2)]

  Observation. One child had an incomplete Anaphylaxis care plan on site. The location of medication was left blank and one of the Epi Pen expiry dates was outdated (Oct 2025). When asked where the Epi Pen was kept the staff stated they were not sure and went to ask the other staff in the room.

  Medications that staff have agreed to administer are readily accessible to staff and are administered in the correct dosage at the correct times. [CCLR Sec. 53(1)]

  Observation. LO observed children with allergies did not have request for administration of medication forms indicating the amount and the times specified by the child's parent or in the child's record.

  Observation. LO reviewed a sampling of children's files and observed several children had: - missing medical insurance plan number - missing date of enrolment in the community care facility - emergency contact information the same as parent information - no medical practitioner contact information Licensing observed arrival and departure times are not captured.

  Prior to employing staff the manager has met with each person and has obtained the appropriate documentation. [CCLR Sec. 19(1)]

  Observation. LO reviewed staff files: - 1 did not have a record of work history - 1 criminal record check is addressed to another facility - 3 did not have evidence that the persons have complied with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs.
