  For each child requiring extra support, the licensee keeps a current care plan showing the required information. [CCLR Sec. 58(1)(2)]

  Observation. Care plans are now in place for each child that requires them. But it was observed that one child with a care plan for anaphylaxis (with Epi-Pen), their plan stated that the Epi-pen is in the emergency Backpack. After a few minutes of looking the staff found it in a drawer. It has expired (April 2026) and they pulled it out to give back to the parent. But no follow up was conducted.

  Hazardous objects and substances are inaccessible to children. [CCLR Sec 17]

  Observation. LO observed that a closet used to store cleaning supplies was unlatched, there was also broom and dust pan in the play room accessible to children and attached to the change mat are cleaning wipes (Lysol), scissors and plastic gloves that could all be hazardous to children.

  The entire outdoor play area is enclosed and constructed in a manner that is suitable for the age and development of children, and ensures that children are free of harm. [CCLR Sec. 16(3)(a)(b)]

  Observation. The outdoor space is fully enclosed, LO observed gardeners on site to do some work. LO observed the following - in the far corner of the of space is a tent, behind this tent are tires wrapped in plastic, this area is also hard to supervise due to the tent. There is also plastic hanging on the fence and a wood plank leaning on the wall. The outdoor space must be safe and easy to supervise.

  Observation. There is a medication form for a child with Asthma but no care plan. LO has attached the Asthma care plan form (to email with this report) as there is information that the medication form may not include.

  Observation. Children's files and emergency cards were reviewed, it is important to note that the emergency cards that staff use when off site are not completed, with many missing emergency contact information (other than parent).

  Observation. Licensing observed that the opening gate is not closing properly due the uneven ground which also prevents the gate from opening properly posing a hazard to children in care.
