Observation. Licensing observed daily attendance record reflects children's arrival and departure times. Licensing observed two children missing personal health numbers on file. Licensing was informed that no children had allergies, medical conditions, or required care plans that they are aware of. Upon review of children's registration records, Licensing observed three children with various allergies listed, with one of those children requiring an Epi-pen. Licensing was informed that the severity of the children's allergies or if medication is required were not known. Licensing observed no care plans in place for any of the three children. A discussion was had about the risks involved of not being aware of children's allergies and not having the proper tools to respond to an anaphylaxis emergency. This issue was originally found out of compliance on November 02, 2022. The licensee keeps a current record for each child showing the information required. [CCLR Sec. 57]

Observation. Daily attendance record reflects children's arrival and departure times. When inquiring of the Manager if any children are anaphylactic, the Licensing Officer was informed that one child is and has an epi-pen. Prior to this information being provided, Licensing Officer inquired with a staff if any children were anaphylactic and received a response that there were no children with this diagnosis. Licensing Officer informed the Manager that this is pertinent information that all staff in the program must be informed of. The Manager then conveyed this information to the other staff present. Licensing Officer reviewed the child's registration documentation, observed a notation specific to the child's allergy and then inquired about a care plan for the child and learned that one is not on-file. Licensing Officer asked the Manager to make arrangements with the child's parent to have one in place. When the child arrived to the program, the Manager spoke to the child's parent. Afterwards, the Manager informed the Licensing Officer that the child is not anaphylactic and no epi-pen is required. As discussed with the Manager, acquire written confirmation that the child is not anaphylactic.
