  The facility, the furniture, equipment, fixtures and supplies are of sturdy and safe construction.  They are easy to clean, and are clean and in good repair and free from hazards. [CCLR Sec. 13(2) and Sec. 15(1)(a)]

  Observation. The cushions for a child's sized couch and armchair are in need of cleaning. The Manager informed that a new couch and two armchairs have been purchased. Only two step stools are available in the washroom and they are used by children to gain access to the hand sinks. Due to the size of the toilets available to children in the washroom, additional step stools are needed.

  Observation. Dirt and dust was observed a the base of the toilets and along the bottom of the tiles in the bathroom. The caulking at the base of the toilets has worn away.

  All indoor and outdoor play materials and equipment accessible to children are suitable for the age and development of the children, safely constructed, free from hazards and in good repair. [CCLR Sec. 16(4)]

  Observation. During today's inspection the wooden playhouse was observed closed with yellow tape.

• RECORDS AND REPORTING / Care PlansNon-critical

  For each child requiring extra support, the licensee keeps a current care plan showing the required information. [CCLR Sec. 58(1)(2)]

  Observation. As discussed today a child's Care Plan and Registration file had confusing information. The Care Plan has a written statement from the parent indicating No Epi-pen required. The Registration file and Emergency consent forms still had Epi-pen information.
