Observation. Upon arriving at the program, Licensing observed that the daily attendance record was not documented to reflect arrival and departure times of children. When asked the staff member, Licensing was informed that another system is used to keep track of the children's daily attendance. Licensing informed that children's arrival and departure times must be documented to fully demonstrate compliance with CCLR S. 40.

The facility, the furniture, equipment, fixtures and supplies are of sturdy and safe construction. They are easy to clean, and are clean and in good repair and free from hazards. [CCLR Sec. 13(2) and Sec. 15(1)(a)]
Observation. Several padded post protectors appeared to be damaged with exposed inner materials. They are no longer easy to clean and are in good repair.

Observation. Licensing was unable to locate and review one staff's file. This staff's information was not reflected in their current staff list. Staff member informed Licensing that this causal staff's information is kept in the head office.

Implementation of the fire drill system is practiced at least once each month, and implementation of the emergency plan is practiced at least once each year. [CCLR Sec. 22(2)(b)(c)]
Observation. Staff informed Licensing that the monthly fire drill has not yet been conducted due the usual adjustments typically seen during the transition period in September. Licensing reminded staff that the fire drill and emergency drill must occur accordingly. (i.e. monthly fire drill and annual emergency drills)

Observation. Licensing observed a document that indicates two children requiring an epi-pen to treat their anaphylaxis. These medications were not kept on site.

Observation. Licensing observed the following: *a tall unsecured shelf being placed away from the wall. Play materials (i.e. toy castles, etc) were also stored on top - this could pose a safety hazard should these items fall onto a child. *unsecured TV stand with wheels placed behind the tall shelf - Staff informed that this TV stand belongs to the school. Licensing inquired if this TV could be relocated while care is being provided. Staff informed they will look into it.

Observation. Licensing observed a designated log to keep track of inspections of the outdoor play space. However no entries were observed since the program has opened.

Observation. When Licensing inquired of the Emergency preparedness supplies, staff appeared unware of it.

Observation. Licensing reviewed 20 children's files. Following information are missing in their files: *no digital photos for 7 children. *1 missing immunization record. *3 missing health practitioner information.

Observation. Licensing observed one responsible adult certificate and two first aid certificates being posted. However Licensing was unable to locate and review the entire staff files. (i.e. CRC, immunization record, a work history, references, etc)
