    Observation. Licensing observed one group of 7 children from the 3-5 program playing and eating snack in the OSC yard. When the group of OSC children arrived, they also used the same space for snack. More than 8 children observed present. Licensing was informed that one group of the 3-5s are grouped together with the OSC in the afternoon, exceeding one half hour before closing.

    Observation. Program has used auxiliary staff and regular educators from the 3-5 side, while hiring for the school age program. All educator's certificates are posted in the room. One staff has been hired dedicated to the out of school care program, starting on Monday May 26. The ECEA certificate of this staff has not been posted.

    Observation. *CCFL was informed by the Manager that the same towel is being used to clean tables more than one time, usually switched to a new one mid-day. This could cause potential cross-contamination. *Spray bottles containing soap water have not been labelled to identify its contents. CCFL was informed that these smaller spray bottles are newly acquired. *Microwave cord is dangling at an accessible height for children. This can cause a potential tipping hazard of the microwave. *A tall shelf in the nap room next to the bed storage compartments is not secured to the wall. This can be a potential tipping hazard.

Staff informed CCFL that they are newly employed and not familiar with the emergency training, mentioning the drills are done by the other program at the facility.

    Observation. *Licensing observed two spray bottles that were stored within reach and accessible to children on a small rolling cart outside. One of the bottles was unlabelled.

    The entire outdoor play area is enclosed and constructed in a manner that is suitable for the age and development of children, and ensures that children are free of harm. [CCLR Sec. 16(3)(a)(b)]

    Observation. *Licensing observed several large gaps (5-8") between the bottom of the chain link fence and the ground. The gaps are located alongside the sandbox and the parking lot. Gaps or spaces between 3"- 9" are considered an entrapment risk. *There are protective bolt covers missing from 2 of the light standards. *The protective silicone that had been placed around the small bolts for the tent has worn away.
