Applicants for licences and licensees must notify a medical health officer immediately of any change in the information provided under section 9.

Observation. An office has been built in the preschool program using shelves without notification to Licensing will need to return to measure the room to ensure usable floor space has not been impacted.

Corrective action. The Director is to submit floor plans to show the changes made to the space and to provide fire approval.

A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.

Observation. There was insufficient water in the emergency supplies.

Corrective action. The Manager advised she will purchase water sufficient for 72 hours.

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.

Observation. One staff member's criminal record check clearance (CRC) letter was not site specific. The CRC was referenced to a previous place of employment.

Corrective action. The Manager will have the staff member apply for a CRC under this business once an account is set up.

A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (b) for each employee, the records required under section 19 (1) [character and skill requirements].

Observation. Criminal Record Check is not current (expired) for one staff.

Corrective action. The Manager will follow-up with the Director on the status of registering for a business account with the criminal record review program.
