  Observation. Licensing was unable to verify yearly care plan reviews for multiple care plans.

  Corrective action. The Manager is to develop a system for yearly care plan reviews and record keeping.

  A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility as (a) an educator or an assistant unless the person holds a certificate issued under Division 2 [Employee Qualifications], which must be verified by the system maintained by the early childhood educator registry. (Educator or assistant certificate validation)

  Observation. Licensing reviewed 3 staff files and one staff was missing record of certificate validation.

  Corrective action. The Manager is to validate the staffs certificate via the system established by the ECE registry.

• EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

  A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

  Observation. The one closet in the program is missing both door nobs.

  Corrective action. Please ensure the facility is in good repair.

  Corrective action. Please ensure a record of the yearly emergency evacation drill (earthquake drill).

  Observation. Licensing reviewed 2 staff files and observed that record of character references were missing for one staff.

  Corrective action. Please ensure a record of at least 2 character references for each staff prior to hiring.
