  Observation. Staff neglected to conduct a head count of the children in care during transition time, and one child was left behind on the playground. Staff were not aware the child was missing from the group.

  Corrective action. Child was returned unharmed to the classroom.

• EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

  A licensee must ensure that all indoor and outdoor play materials and equipment accessible to children are (b) safely constructed, free from hazards and in good repair.

  Observation. Licensing observed that the dividing fence between playground IT and 3-5 was wobbly/moving when leaning on it.

  Corrective action. Ensure dividing fence is in good repair and study.

(Educator or assistant certificate validation) Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Licensing reviewed 5 staff file and one staff was missing validation of ECEA certificate.

  Corrective action. Ensure staff files are complete.

  A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.

  Observation. Licensing reviewed 5 staff files and one staff 's file Criminal Record Check was not obtained.

  Corrective action. Manager said that the facility applied for the CRC but it has not yet arrived.
