  Observation. Staff did not follow child's care plan when they gave him food he was instructed not to have.

  Corrective action. Manager said that she has spoken with the licensee contact and they are working on changing some of the systems the facility has in place in regards with food and nutrition services.

• RECORDS AND REPORTING

  A licensee must keep, for each child requiring extra support, a current care plan showing the following information: (a) the diagnoses relevant to the child's requirement for extra support, as made by health care professionals.

  Observation. A care plan was available for the child in care, however, the plan of action and the location of the EPI pen was not accurate.

  Corrective action. Staff said that they will speak to Head Office and the care plan will be updated.

  A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status.

  Observation. Licensing reviewed 9 children's files and one child's file was missing a record of immunization.

  Corrective action. Ensure all children's files are complete.

• RECORDS AND REPORTING

  A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.

  Observation. During routine inspection licensing observed the following: - facility is using a new app called Procare and sign in and out takes place by the use of an IPad. - when asked to view the attendance of arrival and departure staff on site was able to access it on the computer. However, only a day in October was available for viewing and only the arrival times were noted not the departure times. - other days were not available to staff. Staff also mentioned that they do not have access or do not know how to access the arrival and departure times. - arrival and departure times were not available on any other dates in October.

  Corrective action. Ensure arrival and departure times are present.

• STAFFING

  A licensee must ensure that children have at all times immediate access to an employee who (a) holds a valid first aid and CPR certificate, provided on completion of a course that meets the requirements of Schedule C.

  Observation. During the review of the staff files licensing observed that one staff that sometimes works alone had an expired First Aid certificate.

  Corrective action. Ensure First Aid certificates are valid.

  Observation. During the routine inspection 11 children's files were reviewed and two children's files were missing a date of enrollment.

  Observation. During review of children's records, two of three care plans reviewed did not contain the signature of parents. The staff had signed the care plans.

  A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

  Observation. Taps in the children's bathrooms showed signs of rust around the handles, accessible to children.

  Corrective action. Please ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair.

  Observation. During inspection, licensing reviewed eight files. One file was missing the name and telephone number of the medical practitioner, and one file contained no emergency contact.
