A licensee must establish a program to instruct children in, and to practise the rules of, health and hygiene.

Observation. Bathroom used by children to wash hands is missing soap and single use paper towels

Corrective action. Manager said she will put a bottle of soap in the bathroom and the paper towels ran out yesterday so they will buy some over the weekend.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (b) date of enrolment in the community care facility.

Observation. childs file is missing an enrolment date.

Corrective action. Manager said they will review children's files with parents and ensure they are correct and up to date.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.

Observation. a child is missing the name and phone number of emergency contact.

Corrective action. Manager said they will review children's files with parents and ensure they are correct and up to date.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (e) any illness, allergy or medical disability disclosed to the licensee by the child or his or her parent or medical practitioner.

Observation. No allergy plan developed or posted.

Corrective action. Manager said they will develop and post the child's allergy so all staff are aware.

A licensee must have in writing from a parent, and maintain at the community care facility, consent (a) to call a medical practitioner or ambulance in case of accident or illness if the parent cannot immediately be reached.

Observation. a child is missing consent to call for medical.

Corrective action. Manager said they will review children's files with parents and ensure they are correct and up to date.

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility as (a) an educator or an assistant unless the person holds a certificate issued under Division 2 [Employee Qualifications], which must be verified by the system maintained by the early childhood educator registry. (Educator or assistant certificate validation)

Observation. validation for an employee was not obtained.

Corrective action. Manager said they will review the staff files and ensure they are all complete and up to date.
