Observation. the following items are in poor repair, floor heat register, the towel rack is broken please remove or replace,the is no lid on the garbage can in the bathroom , soiled diapers are disposed of there, the mop bucket has standing water in it, and is accessible to the children

Observation. In the outside environment licensing observed numerious broken toys which children have access too. Inside the facility, licensing observed window blind cords at a level accessible to children.

Observation. Licensing observed that the managers ECE licence has expired in September 2022. Manager stated that she has applied to the Registry in October 2022 to renew her licence and was able to provide a copy of her submitted application. Education was provided on submitting an exemption for this type of situation.
Corrective action. Please ensure that the ratio of employees to children attending a community care facility is no less than that permitted in Schedule E.

Observation. -Licensing observed that facility has a fire extinguisher but no evidence when it was last serviced. Manager stated that she purchases new extinguishers each year but could not locate the receipt of purchase. -Upon discussion about facilities emergency drill, manager stated that she has sent home the children's emergency preparedness kits in October for renewal and has yet to receive them back.
Corrective action. Please ensure licensee has an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.
