1 critical and 9 non-critical findings recorded since 2021.
January 27, 2025Routine Inspection3 non-critical
- C4.1 - Are facility records current and complete?Non-critical
Observation. Attendance sheets were occasionally missing the departure times for the children. This is important information to have in case all children must be accounted for in an emergency. A method for remembering to sign all children out when they leave the facility is required. Daily inspections of the outdoor play space have not been recorded. Outdoor play spaces must be inspected for potentially dangerous items, each day. Staff describe conducting inspections daily, but a method for recording those inspections is required.
- C2.1 - Are written policies and procedures in place to guide employees in all matters regarding the care and supervision of children?Non-critical
Observation. Staff could not locate an emergency plan policy that would guide them in matters relating to an emergency. An emergency evacuation kit is an important part of preparedness for unexpected emergencies. The emergency plan and an emergency kit must be onsite, and staff must be trained in the emergency procedures.
- C3.1 - Does the facility have sufficient employees who possess adequate training and experience to meet the care, supervision, and needs of the children?Non-critical
Observation. During the inspection there was no evidence found that employees had practiced the emergency plan. The emergency plan must be practiced by each employee at least once per year. A system for ensuring that the plans to prepare for, mitigate, and recover from an emergency are known by, and practiced by staff is required. One employee's on-site file was missing results of a criminal record check and evidence of at least 20 hours of training to qualify as a responsible adult. The records must be kept for the entire time a person is employed.
October 23, 2023Routine Inspection1 critical, 2 non-critical
- C1.1 - Does the licensee continually inform licensing of any significant changes to the structure or operation of the facility?Critical
Observation. Licensing was notified of a change in manager, however during the inspection the previous manager's name was observed to be posted at the facility.
- C7.1 - Is the facility safe, sanitary, free from hazards, in good repair, and appropriate for the age and development of children?Non-critical
Observation. A system for indicating that a daily inspection is done exists, but staff indicated that they are not aware of what is to be inspected. The inspections must be conducted, not just recorded.
- C4.1 - Are facility records current and complete?Non-critical
Observation. Two staff files were not available to the Licensing Officer during this inspection. Proof that staffing files are complete must be submitted to Licensing by the follow up date above. A record of the practice of monthly fire drills and annual emergency plan was not available to the Licensing Officer during this inspection. Fire drill and emergency plan logs must be submitted to Licensing by the follow up date above. A system for ensuring that records are kept in a single location at the facility is required.
October 3, 2022Routine Inspection3 non-critical
- C4.1 - Are facility records current and complete?Non-critical
Observation. Some personal information was missing from children's files. Sex of each child was not recorded, and one child's file was missing a personal health number. A system for ensuring that all required information is collected before a child begins in the program is required.
- C9.1 - Are there plans and actions in place to ensure medications are stored and administered properly?Non-critical
Observation. Consent to administer medication forms were not observed to be on site. Consent forms must be available, should the need to administer any medication, including puffers, arise.
- C3.1 - Does the facility have sufficient employees who possess adequate training and experience to meet the care, supervision, and needs of the children?Non-critical
Observation. Staff first aid certificate expired in 2021. A plan for ensuring that children have immediate access to an employee who holds a valid first aid and CPR certificate is required.
March 2, 2021Routine Inspection1 non-critical
- C3.1 - Does the facility have sufficient employees who possess adequate training and experience to meet the care, supervision, and needs of the children?Non-critical
