    A licensee must establish a program to instruct children in, and to practise the rules of, health and hygiene. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Licensing observed that the soap children use to wash their hands with was diluted with a lot of water. Licensing discussed the importance of not diluting soap with water.

    Corrective action. Ensure that a program is established to instruct children in and to practice the rules of, health and hygiene.

  • EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

    A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Licensing observed that children's medication is stored in the first aid backpack. The backpack is kept on the counter or on top of the emergency bags and accessible to children in care. Licensing provided education on ensuring that children do not have access to any medication.

    Corrective action. Please ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.

    Observation. Upon a review of four staff records, Licensing observed one staff's criminal record check (CRC) is expired. The Manager informed Licensing that a current CRC has been obtained but there is no evidence for Licensing to verify it.

    Corrective action. Please ensure that staff records are current.
