- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation. Licensing observed 3 sleeping mats that were torn on the edges making the material porrous and unable to clean.
Corrective action. Ensure all equipment is in good repair.
11020 - CCLR s.13(2) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child requiring extra support, a current care plan showing the following information: (b) the courses of action recommended by health care professionals to address the needs of the child requiring extra support.
Observation. Licensing noted 1 child requiring emergency medication. There was no care plan outlining the course of action should an allergic reaction occur. The emergency medication had also expired in June 2022.
Corrective action. Ensure children requiring emergency medication have a care plan in place and all emergency medication has not expired.
19220 - CCLR s.58(1)(b) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.
Observation. A random selection of children's files were reviewed. Out of the 7 reviewed, 1 file did not contain information for a medical practioner.
Corrective action. Ensure children's files have contact information for a medical practioner.

Observation. Medical insurance plan was missing on file for one child.

A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation. Licensing observed the following: - a plastic bag left behind the garbage can in the outdoor play area. (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION) - the children's bedding was stored all together. The Manager said they have ordered bins to separate the children's bedding
Corrective action. Ensure a healthy and safe environment at all times.
11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.
Observation. A review of the attendance record found the following: - When asked how many children were in attendance a staff said 20. A head count indicated 17 children. - All 17 children were in the PreK-1 room. However, the sign in/out indicated children were signed in at both rooms, Pre-K1 and Prek-2.
Corrective action. Ensure an accurate record indicating whether the child is absent, present, and the time of arrival and departure is on file.

Observation. A random selection of children's files were reviewed. Out of the 3 reviewed, 1 did not have a photograph.
Corrective action. Enusre a photograph or digital image of the child is on file.

A licensee must have in writing from a parent, and maintain at the community care facility, consent (b) to release a child to someone other than the parent.
Observation. A random selection of children's files were reviewed. Out of the 3 reviewed, 2 did not contain information for an alternate pick-up. The Manager said the 2 children are new to the facility.
Corrective action. Ensure there is consent from a parent to release a child to someone other than the parent.

Observation. A random selection of staff files were reviewed. Out of the 3 reviewed, 1 did not have a site specific criminal record check. The Manager said an application has already been submitted for this staff.
Corrective action. Ensure a current, valid and site specific criminal record check has been obtained for all employees.
