    A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

    Observation. A closet door's handle broken in one of the play rooms.

  • RECORDS AND REPORTING

    A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.

    Observation. Upon a random review of three children's records, Licensing observed that two children's emergency contact information was not obtained.

    Corrective action. A corrective action plan to be submitted to Licensing on how this contravention has been addressed.

    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    Observation. Licensing observed that the bleach and water bottles are not labelled.

  • RECORDS AND REPORTING

    A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.

    Observation. Upon a review of the attendance records, Licensing observed that children's time of arrival, departure and if absent are not recorded. The Licensee puts a check mark beside their names for each day they are present. Licensing provided education on how to complete the attendance records correctly and the importance of ensuring that they are accurate on a daily basis.

    Corrective action. A written response to be submitted to Licensing on how this contravention has been addressed.

  • STAFFING

    The licensee must not permit a person over the age of 12 to be ordinarily present on the premises of a community care facility while children are present, unless the person is of good character and the licensee has obtained a criminal record check for that person.

    Observation. Licensing observed that there is a person over the age of 12 who is ordinarily present however their criminal record check (CRC) is not available. The Licensee said that they were having difficulty completing the on-line CRC.

    Corrective action. A written response to be submitted to Licensing on how this contravention has been addressed.
