  The licensee must (b) review the care plan at least once each year with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent.

  Observation. Licensing reviewed three care plans. Two of these plan have not been reviewed annually with the parent or any person requested to by the parent.

  Corrective action. The staff on site stated that the care plans would be reviewed with parents this week.

• STAFFING

  A licensee must ensure that each employee (c) practices implementing the emergency plan at least once each year.

  Observation. The emergency plan has not been practiced within the past year.

  Corrective action. The staff on site stated that an emergency drill would be scheduled and practiced.

• STAFFING

  A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.

  Observation. Two staff criminal record checks have expired, one volunteer Criminal Record Check is not site specific. Staff stated that Manager has been trying to renew Criminal Record Checks. One has documentation which shows they have been trying to renew the CRC since August. Manager states that they have been having difficulties since there is a new system in place with the criminal record review board. Please note that these staff should not work alone until a valid CRC has been obtained.

  Corrective action. Please provide a written response to indicate how you will address the contravention noted above on or before November 12, 2024

  Observation. A total of 8 staff files were reviewed and 2 had criminal record checks with expiry dates of November 3, 2021.

  Corrective action. Please ensure all staff criminal record check clearance letters are current.

  A licensee must have all of the following: (b) an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.

  Observation. Licensing observed that there is no emergency bag and supplies available at the care facility. The Manager informed Licensing that the emergency bag was taken home to update and restock.

  Corrective action. Please ensure that an emergency plan is in place that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate and respond to and recover from any emergency.
