    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    Observation. -Licensee was mixing 1/4 cup of bleach to 750ml spray bottle. LO explained that this mixture is too strong. Bleach to water solution for daily cleaning should be 1:100 ratio (i.e. 10 ml bleach to 990ml water). -Diaper change mat is a play pen mattress that is not made of a non-porous material and difficult to clean due to its porous material.

    Corrective action. Please provide a written response to indicate how you will address the contravention noted above on or before September 17, 2024

    Observation. Upon review of attendance, it was noted that some children were not signed in for today and yesterday. Licensee relies on the parents to sign their children in. Discussion had about attendance ultimately the Licensee's responsibility. Discussion about marking when children are absent from the program.

    Observation. Licensee's criminal record check expired in July but within the last few days has submitted an application to renew. Additionally, a criminal record check for a person over the age of 12 who lives in the home has not been obtained.

    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    Observation. Licensing observed the following; - the fridge temperature was measured at 6.3 degrees Celsius. The Licensee stores children's food and drinks in the fridge. Licensing provided education that the fridge temperature should be between 0-4 degrees Celsius. - There were two incidents in the minor incident log book, in 2023, where children had gotten injured and polysporin was administered on the wounds. The Licensee informed Licensing that no written consent was provided by the parent to allow the administration of the medication. Licensing provided education that any cream or ointment that has a DIN # on them mean that they have medicinal ingredients and written consent and medication form need to be completed by the parents..

    Corrective action. Ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are in care.

    A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (e) written policies and procedures respecting food and drink to be given to children.

    Observation. Upon a review of the nutrition policy, Licensing observed that snack and drink is provided to children. However, upon discussion with the Licensee, Licensing determined that snack and food is not provided to children, since the COVID epidemic Licensing discussed ensuring that all policies and procedures are up to date and reflect the practice of the facility.

    Corrective action. Ensure that written policies and procedures respecting food and drink given to children are current.
