    Observation. In the outdoor play area, Licensing observed a plastic climber/slide that is placed close to the metal fence and concrete ground. There is not sufficient fall zone clearance.

    Corrective action. A corrective action plan to be submitted to Licensing on how this contravention has been addressed.

    A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.

    Observation. A storage room in the main play area that is unlocked and contains several cleaning chemicals and metal ladder. Licensing provided suggestions on how to make the room inaccessible to children.

    Corrective action. A corrective action plan to be submitted to Licensing on how this contravention has been addressed.

    Without limiting subsection (1), a licensee must ensure that (b) the ratio of employees to children attending a community care facility is no less than that permitted in Schedule E.

    Observation. There is an ECEA staff who sometimes closes the facility. Staff completed their ECE training, however, they have no yet obtained their ECE Certificate. Discussion had with staff about not being considered an ECE staff until they have physically received their ECE Certificated.

    Corrective action. Please ensure staff to child ratio is according to Schedule E of the CCLR.

Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Child who recently started within the program started when they were 28 months. Children who are enrolled within the program must be 29 months or older. This child should not have attended the program without an approved temporary placement. Child is now meets the age requirements to attend the program.

    Corrective action. Please ensure children who attend the GCC (30 mos-School Age) program meet the age requirement set out within Schedule E of the CCLR.

    Observation. There is a current care plan on file that does not contain any notation to indicate if the care plan was created in consultation with the parent.

    Corrective action. Please ensure the care plans have some sort of notation to indicate being created with the parent so Licensing can confirm compliance (i.e. signature by parent).

    Observation. -There is a care plan on file for a child who currently attends which has not been reviewed in over a year. -An additional care plan does not have a date on the plan. Manager indicated that it was created within the last few months, however, Licensing cannot confirm as there is no date on the document.

    Corrective action. Please ensure that care plans are dated and reviewed yearly.
