    A licensee, other than a licensee who provides a care program described as either Preschool (30 Months to School Age) or Group Child Care (School Age), must have in a community care facility a sturdy surface for changing diapers, located outside the food preparation area, next to (a) a covered container for soiled clothing.

    Observation. A soiled diaper was placed in a garbage bin with no lid in one of the classroom (washroom).

    Corrective action. Ensure that a covered container is available in all washrooms.

    Observation. No records of yearly emergency drills.

    Observation. Emergency Supplies are insufficient to implement the emergency plan, and the fire extinguisher was not serviced.

    Corrective action. Ensure that sufficient supplies are available. The fire extinguishers are serviced and tagged annually.

    A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

    Observation. - There are areas on the wall in the group childcare program room where the drywall is chipped - There were 2 blue couches and 2 single chairs that have the material torn on the arm rests. - The wooden kitchen in the group daycare program is chipped

    Corrective action. Ensure the facility and the equipment are in good repair and can be sanitized effectively.

    Observation. 2 staff files have expired criminal record checks on file. New ones have been applied for but it was after they had been expired. These staff cannot work alone with the children until they have valid checks on file.

    Corrective action. Ensure all staff have valid, facility specific criminal record checks on file.
