    A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (c) a record respecting compliance with section 22 (2) (b) and (c) [emergency training and equipment]. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): For the month of June 2025, the fire drill was not recorded. The facility manager said that although it was not recored, the drill was completed with children.

    Corrective action. Ensure that the monthly fire drills are recorded.

  • EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

    A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

    Observation. Licensing observed the following: - A gazebo metal frame (without the fabric) was observed to be outdoors. The facility manager explained that there are times children use the space where this item is located. As it was quite unstable, it could potentially cause harm to children. - The changing mat pad in the bathroom was ripped (and therefore difficult to clean).

    Corrective action. Ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided to children at all times.

    A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.

    Observation. Licensing observed that the emergency supplies (food, water etc.) had an expiry date of Sept. 2023.

    Corrective action. Ensure that the emergency supply items are replenished and remove items that have expired.

    Observation. Licensing observed the following: - Absent children are not indicated in the daily attendance record - 4 children present in the facility were not signed in (This was corrected during the inspection)

    Corrective action. Ensure to indicate children who are absent in the daily attendance record, and to ensure that children are signed in and that their time of arrival is indicated and recorded daily.

    Corrective action. Children must not have access to hazardous objects.
