  A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): A spray cleaner was stored on the floor beside the toilet in the washroom. This item is a repeat contravention on routine inspection #MZIN-DHSNXA on 19-Jun-2025.

  Corrective action. Ensure these items are not within reach of children.

• POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

  A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.

  Observation. An item for consumption in the emergency supplies was observed to be past the best before date (Jan. 08, 2026)

  Corrective action. Ensure to remove items that are past the best before date and replenish.

• RECORDS AND REPORTING

  A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Absent children have not been recorded previously last week.

  Corrective action. Ensure children who are absent are recorded daily.

• STAFFING

  The licensee must not permit a person over the age of 12 to be ordinarily present on the premises of a community care facility while children are present, unless the person is of good character and the licensee has obtained a criminal record check for that person.

  Observation. A criminal record check for a person over the age of 12 who is ordinarily present was expired.

  Corrective action. Without a current CRC, this individual cannot be on-site during operational hours.

  A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

  Observation. Licensing observed the following: - Beddings and sheets stacked and touching in the nap room - liquid soap and a liquid cleaning product was stored under the sink (items were moved & corrected during inspection)

  Corrective action. Ensure that each bedding / sheets are separated when not in use

  A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.

  Observation. Licensing observed that the licensee's CRC record, and the CRC record of another individual present in the home was not available on-site. This item is a repeat contravention on routine inspection report #MZIN-D92LUT 12/Sep/2024.

  Corrective action. Ensure that records are updated and available on-site.

• STAFFING

  A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.

  Observation. Licensing observed 2 criminal record checks (CRC) on file that were expired.

  Corrective action. Ensure that files are updated, and that all CRC's are from the Criminal Records Review Board under the business name (site specific).

  A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status.

  Observation. A child's gender was unspecified. Another child's PHN was missing.

  Corrective action. All requirements of CCLR s.57 must be obtained by children's 1st day of care.

  A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (b) date of enrolment in the community care facility. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Repeat violation from FIR #CGEE: - BJSULF (12/Dec/2019) - CLGUBP (24/Nov/2022) A child's start date stated month & day, but not year.

  A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.

  Observation. 2 children lacked their doctor's or walk-in clinic's contact information.

  Corrective action. All requirements of CCLR s.57 must be obtained by children's 1st day of care.

  A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (i) a photograph or digital image of the child, and other information that can be used to readily identify the child in an emergency.

  Observation. A child lacked a photo.

  Corrective action. All requirements of CCLR s.57 must be obtained by children's 1st day of care.

  A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (b) date of enrolment in the community care facility.

  Observation. Repeat violation from FIR #CGEE-BJSULF (12/Dec/2019): A child's start date was missing & another child's start date was incomplete.

  Corrective action. Children's start dates must show the day, month, & year.
