Without limiting subsection (1), a licensee must ensure that (b) the ratio of employees to children attending a community care facility is no less than that permitted in Schedule E. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Licensing observed for a few minutes that there were 18 children, though only 2 staff both with an ECE certification were present. Towards the end of the inspection, two other staff arrived (one with an ECEA & the other with an ECE certification).
Corrective action. Ensure that the correct number of staff (with the correct credentials) is maintained at all times as specified on Schedule E (depending on the number of children present).

- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation. Licensing observed outdoors in the play area that there are plastic boards attached to the fence, which are peeling and accessible to children.
Corrective action. Ensure that this item is in good repair.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.
Observation. Licensing was informed that absent children are not recorded on the attendance sheet.
Corrective action. Ensure that absent children are recorded daily on the attendance sheet.

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (f) evidence that the person has complied with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs.
Observation. Immunization record status was not obtained for one employee.
Corrective action. Ensure that the staff's file is complete.

Corrective action. The fire extinguisher must be serviced annually, by the date indicated on the service tag.
