A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.

Observation. It was communicated to Licensing that the emergency food and water are not taken with staff during emergency drills.

Corrective action. Ensure that these items are in a container that can easily be transported and taken by staff during emergency drills.

A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (c) a record respecting compliance with section 22 (2) (b) and (c) [emergency training and equipment].

Observation. Licensing observed that the emergency drill for the year 2024 was not recorded.

Corrective action. Ensure that this information is recorded and completed yearly.

In respect of a record referred to in this Division, a licensee must (a) keep in a single place at the community care facility the records referred to in sections 56 to 58.

Observation. Licensing observed that no documentation was available for a substitute employee that was on-site today. This is a repeat contravention #CGEE-CUTVCT 18-Aug-2023 & #CGEE-CJG42S 20-Sep-2022.

Corrective action. All employees must have all required documents as per CCLR s. 19 (Character & Skill Requirements) on-site.

The licensee must (b) review the care plan at least once each year with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent.

Observation. It was observed that four care plans were not reviewed annually (all dated 2022) with a parent or any person requested to by the parent. There was also one other care plan that was not signed or dated. This is a repeat contravention #CGEE-C73LR2 20-Sep-2021.

Corrective action. Ensure that care plans are reviewed annually, and that these documents are signed and dated.

A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility both the licence, including any terms or conditions of the licence, and the name of the manager. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Repeat violation from FIR #CGEE-ATHUF6 (27/Nov/2017). The manager's name was not displayed conspicuously.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status.

Observation. Repeat violation from FIR #CGEE: - AEUV8J (18/Oct/2016) - BQDPAF (04/Jun/2020) CCFL reviewed 18 children's files, in which 1 child lacked her immunization status.

Corrective action. All requirements of s.57 are required by children's 1st day of care.

In respect of a record referred to in this Division, a licensee must (a) keep in a single place at the community care facility the records referred to in sections 56 to 58.

Observation. Repeat violation from FIR #CGEE: - ATHUF6 (27/Nov/2017) - CJG42S (20/Sep/2022) An employee lacked her documentation onsite.

Corrective action. All employee documentation must be kept onsite.

A licensee must ensure that each employee (c) practices implementing the emergency plan at least once each year.

Observation. There was no record of the emergency drill being practiced in 2022 or 2023 so far.

Corrective action. The emergency plan must be implemented annually.

In respect of a record referred to in this Division, a licensee must (a) keep in a single place at the community care facility the records referred to in sections 56 to 58.

Observation. 2 employees' documentation were not onsite.

Corrective action. All employee documentation must be onsite & readily available for review.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Children were not signed out in the morning upon transfer of care to school.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (i) a photograph or digital image of the child, and other information that can be used to readily identify the child in an emergency.

Observation. CCFL reviewed 8 children's files & found that 3 lacked a photograph.

Corrective action. A photograph (hardcopy or digital) must be available for each child.

The licensee must (a) develop the care plan in consultation with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent.

Observation. Several children require a care plan but do not have one in place yet.

Corrective action. Children w/ extra support needs require a care plan that shows the: - diagnoses relevant to their requirement for extra support - course(s) of action recommended by health care professionals to address their extra support needs - resources to be made available to them; ie, any adaptation of the facility to ensure their safety or comfort & any modification to the program of activities to enable them to participate in or benefit from the program

The licensee must (b) review the care plan at least once each year with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent.

Observation. 2 children's care plans were reviewed & signed by their parent over a year ago.

Corrective action. Care plans must be reviewed & signed annually by the child's parent(s) to document any changes, if any.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (b) date of enrolment in the community care facility.

Observation. 1 child's start date wasn't documented. Another child's start date only showed the month & year.

Corrective action. All requirements of s. 57 are required by children's 1st day of care.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.

Observation. Children weren't signed in upon arrival.

Corrective action. Children must be signed in or out immediately upon arrival or departure. This will aid 1st responders in the event of an emergency.

Observation. A child lacked a photo in their file & in their emergency consent card.

Corrective action. All requirements of s. 57 are required by children's 1st day of care.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (b) date of enrolment in the community care facility. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): FHA reviewed 10 children's files & found that 2 children lacked their enrolment dates.
