- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.
Observation. Licensing observed the following that are accessible to children in care; - Lysol wipes containers in an unlocked cupboard - cleaning solution bottles in another unlocked cupboard above the sink - a child's emergency equipment in their backpack which is kept on the floor.
Corrective action. A written response to be submitted to Licensing on how this contravention has been addressed.
11200 - CCLR s.17 - EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation. Licensing observed a little couch that is ripped exposing the underlay.
Corrective action. A written response to be submitted to Licensing on how this contravention has been addressed.
11020 - CCLR s.13(2) - NUTRITION AND FOOD SERVICES
A licensee must make available to parents information on the food and drink given to children.
Observation. Upon discussion with the Manager Licensing determined that parents are not informed of the snacks provided each day to the children. Education provided on the importance of informing parents of the food that is provided to the children.
Corrective action. The Manager will place the weekly snack schedule by the entrance for parents to see.
17120 - CCLR s.48(6) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.
Observation. Upon a review of the attendance records for the month of April 2025, Licensing observed the following; -1 day children's time of arrival was not recorded - 4 days children's time of departure was not recorded - 2 days children not identified as absent
Corrective action. A written response to be submitted to Licensing on how this contravention has been addressed.
19090 - CCLR s.57(2)(c) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
In respect of a record referred to in this Division, a licensee must (a) keep in a single place at the community care facility the records referred to in sections 56 to 58.
Observation. Licensing was unable to review the fire drills for 2024 and emergency drill for 2024 as the Manager was unable to locate them. Licensing discussed the importance of ensuring that all records are kept in a single place for Licensing to review.
Corrective action. A written response to be submitted to Licensing on how this contravention has been addressed.

A licensee must ensure that each employee (b) practices implementing the fire drill system at least once each month.
Observation. Licensing observed that a fire drill was not implemented for the Month of March 2025.

Observation. Licensing observed a child's medication in a first aid kit that was sitting on a toy shelf and accessible to the children. Licensing discussed the importance of ensuring that all medication is inaccessible to children in care.
Corrective action. The Manager said that the first aid kit will be place on top of the fridge out of children's reach.
