    Observation. Upon a review of the attendance records for the month of March, Licensing observed three days that children were not signed out in the Group Child Care (SA) program.

  • EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

    A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.

    Observation. Licensing observed the following that are accessible to children in care: - Three cleaning solution spray bottles on the sink counter. Children go to this sink to wash their hands. - In the Group child Care (School Age) a child's epi-pen in their backpack that is hanging on the coat hook. Potential of another child accessing the epi-pen. Licensing provided only as suggestions where the child's backpack can be stored but still accessible to the child who requires the epi-pen. (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION)

    Corrective action. Please ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.

  • POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

    A licensee must have all of the following: (a) emergency exits and a fire drill system approved by a local assistant within the meaning of the Fire Services Act.

    Observation. Upon conversation with the Manager Licensing observed that the program does not have access to the fire extinguisher located in the school. The hallway in which the fire extinguisher is located is not accessible to the program due to construction occurring. Potential hazard in the event of a fire. Licensing provided only as a suggestion to have a fire extinguisher within the program.

    Corrective action. Please ensure that you have emergency exits and a fire drill system approved by a local assistant within the meaning of the Fire Services Act.

    Observation. Upon a review of three out of ten children's records Licensing observed one child's record missing immunization status information.
