A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status.
Observation. Three children's files were reviewed and medical insurance plan numbers were missing.
Corrective action. Ensure all children's registration files are complete including MSP numbers.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (i) a photograph or digital image of the child, and other information that can be used to readily identify the child in an emergency.
Observation. Three children's files were reviewed and were missing photographs of the children.
Corrective action. Ensure all children's registration forms are complete including photographs.

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility as (a) an educator or an assistant unless the person holds a certificate issued under Division 2 [Employee Qualifications], which must be verified by the system maintained by the early childhood educator registry. Observation. A staff working in the program with their ECEA does not have evidence of validation in their file
Corrective action. Ensure all staff files are complete including validation.

- PROGRAM
A licensee must provide to children a comprehensive and coordinated program of indoor and outdoor activities that (c) complies with the program standards set out in Schedule G.
Observation. Toys, equipment and materials for the program are inaccessible to the children in care and have been since the fall of 2021. Staff, manager and program administrator relayed that disinfecting the equipment was not possible and that the children bring toys from home. During the inspection the children were observed engaged in limited activities. The LO reviewed the legislation with all of the staff in regards to the intent of Schedule G due to the limited resources available.
Corrective action. Ensure a comprehensive and coordinated program of indoor and outdoor activities is provided that complies with the program standards set out in Schedule G.

- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must have first aid kits that are readily accessible to all employees, including while care is provided off the community care facility premises.
Observation. Staff in the program relayed that the first aid kit is stored in the locked cabinet and not taken to the playground when the staff pick up the children. LO discussed the requirement for having immediate access to a first Aide kits at all times and to ensure that staff take the kit with them when picking up the children or outside playing.
Corrective action. Ensure first aid kits are available at all times.
11220 - CCLR s.23(2) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child requiring extra support, a current care plan showing the following information: (b) the courses of action recommended by health care professionals to address the needs of the child requiring extra support.
Observation. A child in care did not have a care plan in place. The facility shared with the Licensing Officer an outdated care plan prior to this follow-up inspection. An updated Care Plan is still not in place but it was relayed that it will be available when the child is in attendance in the near future.
Corrective action. Ensure children requiring extra support have current plans and recommendations to address their needs.
