A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation. The following were observed during inspection. - Closet door in the hallway close to the washroom need to be secured. -Toilet cleaning tablets were stored in the washroom drawer.
Corrective action. Please ensure to provide a healthy and safe environment while children are in care.
11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that any heated water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49° Celsius.
Observation. Water temperature accessible to children was measure 57 degree Celsius. ( repeated contravention)
Corrective action. Licensee will provide a written response to address the contravention.
11230 - CCLR s.47 - EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that each piece of furniture or equipment for sleeping (c) is appropriate for the size, age and development of the children intended to use it.
Observation. A two months old baby was sleeping the baby swing that was placed on the table. A four years old child was sleeping in crib.
Corrective action. Licensee will address the contravention for the safety of children.
11120 - CCLR s.15(2)(c) - OR SUPERVISION
A licensee must ensure that children are adequately supervised by qualified employees in sufficient numbers to meet the needs of each child.
Observation. Volunteer staff was supervising children in nap room on the 2nd floor. Licensee and other staff were working with another group of children on the main floor.
Corrective action. Licensee stated that they will not have volunteer work with children without supervision.
14010 - CCLR s.34(1) - OR SUPERVISION
Without limiting subsection (1), a licensee must ensure that (a) children attending a community care facility are divided into groups, with each group having no more children than that permitted in Schedule E.
Observation. There were total 8 children present at the time of inspection. Five children were younger than 48 months old, including a two months old infant.
Corrective action. Temporary placement request was discussed for review.
14020 - CCLR s.34(2)(a) - OR SUPERVISION
A licensee must do all of the following: (b) operate the community care facility in a manner that will promote (i) the health, safety and dignity of persons in care,
Observation. There were total 8 children in care. Maximum capacity was exceeding for family child care.
Corrective action. Licensee will address the capacity by tomorrow morning.
14360 - CCALA s.7(1)(b)(i) - POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
A licensee must ensure that the policies and procedures referred to in subsection (1) are implemented by employees.
Observation. A school age child was using tablet exceeding 30 minutes limit of screen time.
Corrective action. A written response is required to address the contravention.
13071 - CCLR s.56(2) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.
Observation. Seven out of eight chilldren were recorded on the attendance sheet for last few weeks. An eight years old child was not signed in/out for before and after school care.
19090 - CCLR s.57(2)(c) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status.
Observation. Review of 4 children files observed two children were missing medical insurance plan number on file.
Corrective action. Please ensure that all children files are complete.

Observation. There is long grass and weed grown in the front and back yard of the facility.
Corrective action. Please ensure that facility is clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

A licensee must ensure that any heated water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49° Celsius.
Observation. Hot water in the children's washroom was measured 57 degree Celsius.
Corrective action. As discussed at the time of initial inspection, heated water temperature must be no more than 49 degree Celsius.
11230 - CCLR s.47 - LICENSING
When advertising or otherwise offering services to the public, a licensee must identify the care program being offered.
Observation. The signage in the front yard of facility is advertising for Infant/toddlers and Preschool. However, the facility is licensed to operate a Family childcare.
Corrective action. Licensee is remove the signage and replace it with the correct service as depicted on the copy of CCFL licence.
10060 - CCLR s.11(3) - POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.
Observation. No fire drills conducted since the start of operation.
Corrective action. Licensing explained the process and intent of the fire drill and emergency drill.
