  • EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

Observation. Licensing observed the following during today's inspection: -The children sleep in one half of the main play space. The two playpens and nine sleep mats are all touching one another in a small space. This set up poses risk to children as each child's bedding touches other children's bedding posing risk of cross contamination and the children/staff have no space to walk between each of the mats. -The Licensee explained that the facility plays in the backyard in the afternoons. The backyard has multiple thorn bushes accessible to children and there is yard equipment, old wood, etc. that needs to be removed from this space.

Corrective action. The Licensee is required re-arrange the space at nap time to allow space between the children's mats and clean up the backyard by removing the thorn bushes and other yard equipment not suitable for children.
