Observation. Licensing observed the center's handbook does not include a written statement of the licensee's policy on behaviour guidance for both the parents and employees to refer to.

A healthy and safe environment is provided at all times [CCLR Sec. 13(1)].
Observation. Licensing observed the following: - Heavy items were being stored in the upper storage cupboards with no restrictor preventing the items from falling. Licensing is concerned that there is a risk of the item falling from the cupboard and injuring someone. - Hazardous liquid being stored under the sink where youth have access to the items. Outside: - Boards framing the benches are coming loose, which presents a risk of injury.

Observation. Licensing observed that the licensee had not been keeping information of a child and other information that can be used to readily identify the child in an emergency.

Observation. LO observed 4 adult sized chairs that appear to be in poor repair as the vinyl is torn and peeling.

Implementation of the fire drill system is practiced at least once each month, and implementation of the emergency plan is practiced at least once each year. [CCLR Sec. 22(2)(b)(c)]
Observation. LO observed that a fire drill has not been documented for the month of September. Staff stated that a fire drill was not practiced for the month of September.
