  A healthy and safe environment is provided at all times [CCLR Sec. 13(1)].

  Observation. Licensing observed that children's sheets which are kept on the mats for the children who do not sleep are touching while in storage. Licensing is concerned for the spread of germs and illness due to cross contamination from the mats and bedding touching.

  A record for each child containing the daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure is not kept. [CCLR Sec. 57(2)(c)]

  Observation. Licensing observed the attendance records were not complete each day.

  Medications that staff have agreed to administer are readily accessible to staff and are administered in the correct dosage at the correct times. [CCLR Sec. 53(1)]

  Observation. There is no information for the administration of medication for a child in care.

  The facility, the furniture, equipment, fixtures and supplies are of sturdy and safe construction.  They are easy to clean, and are clean and in good repair and free from hazards. [CCLR Sec. 13(2) and Sec. 15(1)(a)]

  Observation. In the nap room, LO observed a hole in the wall above the vinyl paneling. The hole in the wall has exposed drywall and appears to be in poor repair.

  Observation. LO observed records for 3 children where the parents have listed themselves as the emergency contact.

  Observation. LO observed that consent to call a medical practitioner or ambulance in case of accident or illness was not signed for 7 children.
