Observation. While certificates are posted, one is expired.

Furniture or equipment for sleeping is used by only one child at a time, is clean and comfortable, and is appropriate for the size, age and development of the children intended to use it. [CCLR Sec. 15(2)]
Observation. As previously noted, there is a second room being used for nap. The following concerns were raised by LO: - upon licensing this space was originally labeled as the nap room. A second room (that is also being used as a nap room) was originally noted as a "care room". At some point, the licensee has changed the formation of the floor plan and is not meeting the plans as submitted to licensing. - the original nap room is now used for storage with limited space for children - they are using a small foam couch as a barrier at the door This space is not safe for children and using both of these rooms as nap rooms may take away floor space which could reduce your overall capacity. .

Observation. LO reviewed two full time staff's files, and a sub - who is on site with Manager. The following items were not available: - CRC - is from the sub's school, you must ensure the CRC has your facility named on it - immunization status is missing - this can be self reported, but must be in writing of some form - First aid

Observation. In the indoor play space LO observed the following: -the second room which is used as a storage space has an unsecured mini refrigerator accessible to children -the hallway space connecting to the second room has an unsecured bi-fold door that is accessible to children. The bi-fold door opens up to a storage space containing cleaning equipment and supplies.

All indoor and outdoor play materials and equipment accessible to children are suitable for the age and development of the children, safely constructed, free from hazards and in good repair. [CCLR Sec. 16(4)]
Observation. In the outdoor space, LO observed that on either side of the climbing equipment has been roped off which poses an entrapment concern and could result in serious injuries to children in care. Manager advised that the areas have been roped off to prevent children from falling while they are on the equipment. Discussion took place with regards supervision of the children while they are using the climbing equipment to which the manager advised a staff is always next to the climber to monitor the children.

The facility, the furniture, equipment, fixtures and supplies are of sturdy and safe construction. They are easy to clean, and are clean and in good repair and free from hazards. [CCLR Sec. 13(2) and Sec. 15(1)(a)]
Observation. LO observed observed that an area of the diaper change table has been taped. The tape is peeling leaving the area porous and difficult to clean.

Observation. LO observed the following in the two sleep spaces: - In the room next to the washroom there was a speaker and air purifier with unsecured cords on the floor, accessible by children. - The second room used for sleeping also appeared to be used for storage. There was a ball pit in this room posing a risk of injury if a child were to enter unsupervised. There were also unsecured items next to the beds including, stacks of tires with a storage bin placed on top, posing a risk of injury if they were to fall.
