The mats are in need of repair or replacement. • Low tree branches pose a risk of poking children and are in need of a trim back.

The facility, the furniture, equipment, fixtures and supplies are of sturdy and safe construction. They are easy to clean, and are clean and in good repair and free from hazards. [CCLR Sec. 13(2) and Sec. 15(1)(a)]
Observation. Licensing observed in the children's washroom one of the toilets was in need of repair, one of the sink basins was broken, there was visible dirt and water on the counters, the steps tool was stained and showed visible dirt.

Medications that staff have agreed to administer are readily accessible to staff and are administered in the correct dosage at the correct times. [CCLR Sec. 53(1)]
Observation. LO observed that a child with a life threatening allergy did not have a request for administration medication form completed to administer an epi-pen in the event of a reaction. In addition, LO observed that the epi-pen onsite was due to expire within 24 hours. Discussion took place with manager with regards to obtaining an updated epi-pen from the family.

Furniture or equipment for sleeping is used by only one child at a time, is clean and comfortable, and is appropriate for the size, age and development of the children intended to use it. [CCLR Sec. 15(2)]
Observation. LO observed that the children's sleeping mats are stored vertically in individual slats. LO observed that when storing the sleeping mats the children's bedding is not removed resulting in the bedding touching one another. In addition, LO observed extra blankets stored in a cupboard piled on top of one another and side by side. Discussion took place with manager with regards to the risk of cross contamination in the way that the children's bedding is stored.

Observation. In the outdoor play space, LO observed a piece of climbing equipment on the concrete. Discussion took place with manager with regards to providing a protective surfacing for the equipment.

Observation. LO observed incomplete care plans posted for three children. Discussion took place with manager with regards to reviewing the care plans at least once a year with a parent.

All persons over the age of 12 that are ordinarily present on the premises while children are present are of good character and the licensee has obtained a criminal record check for each person. [CCLR Sec 20]
Observation. LO observed the following: -criminal record checks for two staff are not addressed to the facility, one is addressed to a another facility and the other to a College -criminal record check on file for one staff has expired -criminal record check has not been obtained for one practicum student
