  Ground Surfacing: A 1.8 meter (six feet) safety zone is provided around playground equipment. [Director of Licensing Standard of Practice - Safe Play Space]

  Observation. Licensing observed the climbers in the outdoor space did not provide a 1.8 meter (six feet) safety zone around the playground equipment.

  Children are provided with a comprehensive and coordinated program of indoor and outdoor activities that is designed for the development and care of the children, and is appropriate for the age and development of the children. [CCLR Sec. 44(1)(a)(b)(c) and Schedule(G)]

  Observation. Licensing observed, that when the children are outside they lack a comprehensive and coordinated program for the age and development of the children enrolled in the program outside. While there were items for the children to play or engage in, for example large climbers and ride'm toys, there was limited to no toys for the kitchen area, building blocks, toys to enhance their imaginative play. The toys provided were taken from one area to another, leaving no toys in the initial area for other children to use.

  Medications that staff have agreed to administer are readily accessible to staff and are administered in the correct dosage at the correct times. [CCLR Sec. 53(1)]

  Observation. LO observed medication for two children with life threatening allergies however there is no information for the administration of medication for the children.

  Observation. In the children's washrooms, LO observed that a covered container for soiled clothing has not been provided.

  Observation. LO observed medication for 1 child did not have a Request for Administration of Medication form completed.

  Observation. LO reviewed all children's records and the following was observed: -medical practitioner is not kept for 7 children -emergency contact is not kept for 1 child -medical insurance plan number is not kept for 1 child

  Observation. All children's records were reviewed and LO observed that the licensee does not have written, parental consent to release a child to someone other than the parent for 1 child.

  Children do not have immediate access to an employee who holds a valid first aid and CPR certificate described in the regulations. [CCLR Sec. 23(1)(a)]

  Observation. LO observed that there no evidence of a valid first aid and CPR certificate described in the regulations has been obtained for 2 staff.
