  A healthy and safe environment is provided at all times [CCLR Sec. 13(1)].

  Observation. Licensing observed the following: - thermometers were required for both the fridge and the freezer. - The shelve located in the washroom stall was not secured to the wall. - Outside the specific art area located in the infant room, the facility walls within the two programs are showing visible signs of wear and tear from daily activities.

  Children are provided with a comprehensive and coordinated program of indoor and outdoor activities that is designed for the development and care of the children, and is appropriate for the age and development of the children. [CCLR Sec. 44(1)(a)(b)(c) and Schedule(G)]

  Observation. Licensing observed the outside play area for the infant group has been designed for a variety of open ended activities to explore, create and imagine. The inside infant area Licensing observed mainly a climbing area for the children, and an open art area, which an educator stated was the main focus prior to the inspection, there were limited activities provided inside for the infants to access for their age and developmental stage. The toddler area both inside and outside lacked a comprehensive and coordinated program of activities that are designed for their current age, stage of development and care. Licensing observed a lot of open shelves, minimal items in the baskets and children's kitchen area.

  Medications that staff have agreed to administer are readily accessible to staff and are administered in the correct dosage at the correct times. [CCLR Sec. 53(1)]

  Observation. LO observed there is no information for the administration of medication for 3 children in care.

  The licensee does not keep a current care plan for each child requiring extra support. [CCLR Sec. 58(1)]

  Observation. LO observed an incomplete asthma care plan for 1 child.

  Observation. LO observed that an Outdoor Maintenance of Equipment checklist is kept however there is no log of the daily inspections conducted by staff.

  Implementation of the fire drill system is practiced at least once each month, and implementation of the emergency plan is practiced at least once each year. [CCLR Sec. 22(2)(b)(c)]

  Observation. LO observed that fire drills were not practiced for the month of August and November.
