  The licensee keeps a current record for each child showing the information required. [CCLR Sec. 57]

  Observation. Licensing observed: - several departure times are not being captured when children leave the facility. - A child left Classroom 1 accompanied by a staff member to go to Classroom 2. The staff remaining in Classroom 1 were not informed that the child had left the room. When attendance records were reviewed, the child was marked as signed in and present in Classroom 1. Discussion took place to ensure children are signed in and signed out when moving between classrooms.

• PHYSICAL, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHING / EnvironmentNon-critical

  The facility, the furniture, equipment, fixtures and supplies are of sturdy and safe construction.  They are easy to clean, and are clean and in good repair and free from hazards. [CCLR Sec. 13(2) and Sec. 15(1)(a)]

  Observation. There is a book shelf in the washroom that is in the main area of the bathroom. The shelf is backward and the particle board is exposed. This is concerning as it is unable to be cleaned or sanitized.

  For each child requiring extra support, the licensee keeps a current care plan showing the required information. [CCLR Sec. 58(1)(2)]

  Observation. While there is a plan on site, it has not been updated annually. The child now brings their asthma medication with them each day, and it can be found in their backpack.

  Observation. While most staff files are complete, LO observed 1 file that is missing information.
